Jackson County longtime deputy Robichaux loses cancer battle
Jackson County Sheriff’s Department shared the sad news Monday that Maj. Michael Robichaux died Sunday evening.
Robichaux was a member of the department for 43 years, retiring in December 2015. He also was a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
“Robi” as he was known to his friends and family, had been battling cancer.
Known as a firearms training advocate, the department dedicated its new firearms training center in Moss Point in his honor. During the ceremony, Sheriff Mike Ezell presented the Distinguished Service Award to Robichaux’s daughter Aimee and son Jonathan.
“Please keep his wife Gayle, their family and our deputies in your thoughts,” Sheriff Mike Ezell said in a press release.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
