Jackson County deputy killed while responding to disturbance

Jackson County, Miss. (WXXV)- The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is sharing a deputy has been killed in the line of duty.

Deputy Michael Jimerson was shot April 1st at 11 PM while responding to a reported disturbance at the Reserve Apartments in St. Martin.

At the scene, there was a shooting with a female suspect, that suspect being pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputy Jimerson was transported to the Ocean Springs Hospital where he died due to his injuries.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is handling the investigation at this time.

Deputy Jimerson began his service with the Sheriff’s Department in 2010.
