Jackson County DA to meet with Nolan Wells’ parents as death investigation continues
JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV) – Jackson County District Attorney Angel Myers McIlrath says her office is scheduled to meet with the parents of Ocean Springs teenager Nolan Wells on Wednesday, July 15, as the investigation into his death continues.
According to Myers McIlrath, once investigators complete their work, the findings will be presented to a grand jury, which will determine whether any criminal charges are warranted.
The district attorney said that process is standard procedure in cases involving an unknown cause of death and should not be interpreted as an indication that investigators have concluded a crime occurred.
Myers McIlrath emphasized that the meeting with the Wells family, as well as her office’s involvement in the case, does not necessarily mean Nolan Wells’ death is being investigated as a criminal matter.
Officials say the investigation remains active, and multiple agencies continue to work to determine the circumstances surrounding the teen’s death.
The district attorney stressed that investigators are committed to conducting a thorough review of all available evidence before any decisions are made.
No additional information about the investigation has been released at this time.
