Jackson County Chamber recognizes local organizations at annual Anchor Awards

The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Anchor Awards this morning.

The Anchor Awards recognize outstanding small businesses along with nonprofits organizations in the community. Congressman Mike Ezell was the keynote speaker.

The event featured a breakfast and the program had various awards presented including the Grit Award for nonprofits, the Thrive Award for businesses based on their size, and the Pioneer Award for new businesses. Jackson County Chamber President/CEO Paige Roberts said, “Today is a day to recognize and celebrate our small businesses and non-profits that took once were dreams and made them reality through a lot of hard work and dedication. Life is hard and running a small business can be very hard but these people get up every morning and do it and they serve while doing it and our community is better for it.”

This was the 16th edition of the annual awards.
