Jackson County CASA distributing school supplies to CASA families

Jackson County CASA is hosting its back-to-school supply pick up now through Thursday.

Supplies were donated from community members and now CASA is distributing them to CASA families to help them prepare for the new school year.

Books, clothes, baby items, toys, hygiene products, and more are available for children who have a designated CASA representative.

Supplies are available for CASA volunteers to pick up and deliver or volunteers can arrange for the foster parents to come and pick up supplies.

Junior Auxiliary of Biloxi-Ocean Springs volunteered to help pack the supplies. CASA Jackson County Executive Director Francis Allsup said, “The community support, as you can see, has outdone themselves this year. This means so much to these kids. When we really get reared to go with this, the foster parents will bring these children in and they get to shop for all of these supplies. Some of them get to come in and they are so excited to pick out their special book bag, to pick out their special toy. It just impacts the children so much to always know that they are being remembered.”

Any remaining supplies will be available for distribution to other foster children after Thursday.
