Jackson County Board of Supervisors recognizes April as Child Abuse and Prevention Awareness Month

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The Jackson County Board of Supervisors recognized April as Child Abuse and Prevention Awareness Month.

That recognition happened at Monday’s board meeting.

The supervisors say that for more than 41 years, the Jackson County CASA has stood as a voice for abused and neglected children in the community.

CASA offers advocacy, hope, and support to children and families going through difficult circumstances.

The board also shared child abuse prevention is a responsibility we all share.

They ask the community to join in raising awareness and encouraging continued efforts to create a safer and more supportive future for every child.
