Jackson County arson suspect has charges reduced
In an update on an arson arrest from over the weekend, 29-year-old Branson Causey’s felony charge of arson was reduced to a misdemeanor during his initial appearance today.
Causey was accused of starting a fire in the woods on Old CCC Camp Road, which is off Ocean Springs Road near Plymouth Road.
The investigator said it was determined that Causey accidentally set the fire once the investigation was completed.
His bond was reduced to $1,000.
