Iowa mission group cleans at Sue Ellen Park in Moss Point

A group of kids traveled to the Coast this week all the way from Iowa, they could be found in Moss Point today volunteering their hard work at Sue Ellen Park.

The youth group from Thrive Church in Indianola, Iowa, picked up trash and fallen limbs at the park during just one stop on their mission trip.

They’ve also done children’s ministry in Moss Point and volunteered at a Pascagoula church.

Group leader Ryan Foust says the kids, aged six to 16, will take what they’ve learned here on the Coast back with them to Iowa so they can make a positive change at home. “We came down from Iowa to help the community here in Moss Point, and we partnered with Jackson County Baptist in Pascagoula Mississippi, and they provided us the opportunity to come out here and serve. So today we’ve dedicated to come out, serving and helping the park at Sue Ellen. We want the students to come out here and make a difference, do a great job of realizing they can get their hands dirty and really make a difference in the community.”

The City of Moss Point would like to extend a sincere thanks to these young helpers.
