Investiture of Judge Sean Tindell
Today community members gathered in Bay St. Louis for an investiture ceremony held for Court of Appeals Judge Sean Tindell.
The ceremony was held this afternoon at the Hancock County Courthouse. Court of Appeals Chief Judge L. Joseph Lee administered the ceremonial Oath of Office.
Prior to joining the Court of Appeals, Judge Tindell served for six years in the Mississippi Senate from District 49.
Throughout his time there working alongside Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves, who spoke at today’s ceremony. “I had the pleasure of working with him as a state senator for the past six years. His desire to represent his constituents on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, but also his desire and understanding of what it took to make Mississippi a better place, I’m just honored to be with him today and I look forward to just telling a few funny stories about Senator Tindell, Judge Tindell now, but just to celebrate this day. He is very deserving of serving on the Mississippi Court of Appeals.”
Judge Tindell said, “This is a historic court house. It’s probably our most historic courthouse on the Coast. It’s an honor to have the proceeding here and to have family and friends that have watched me progress through my legal career and through my political career to this point.”
Judge Tindell, of Gulfport, took the Oath of Office in October 2017. He was appointed by Governor Phil Bryant to fill the vacancy left after Judge David Ishee was appointed to the Mississippi Supreme Court.
