Investigation underway following shooting in Gulfport late Sunday night

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV) — Police are searching for the person responsible for shooting a man in Gulfport late Sunday night.

Gulfport Police say officers responded to the 100 block of Tegarden Road in reference to a shooting at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local area hospital.

An investigation into this shooting is now underway.
