Investigation into Long Beach school threats underway
LONG BEACH, Miss. (WXXV)- An investigation is underway after a credible threat Monday morning led to an hours-long lockdown at all Long Beach School District campuses.
Long Beach police say they received the threat around 10 a.m. and promptly dispatched units to all schools, alongside Harrison County sheriff’s deputies.
Long Beach Mayor Tim Pierce was at our studios earlier and praised the fast response of law enforcement once the threat was made.
Long Beach Police Chief Billy Seal says as of now, there are no suspects identified or arrests made.
