Investigation continues into Gautier pet grooming business
A Gautier pet groomer is being forced to shut down.
The groomers say the facility did nothing wrong. News 25 reached out to the business for comment, but they did not respond.
However, the owner of Sandi’s Pet Grooming Too, Nikki Anderson, posted on Facebook on February 3rd, saying Gautier police released her from custody, no charges related to alleged animal cruelty were pressed against her, and there are no pending charges.
Anderson says she was arrested for old traffic tickets from 2014, having to go court to pay the tickets.
She went on to say the report comes an alleged personal vendetta. Anderson says it has affected the staff, clients, and that she’s sorry.
She says she is working to correct the issue within the boundaries of the law.
On Thursday, January 30th, Gautier police responded to a Crime Stoppers tip of alleged animal abuse, neglect, and illegal boarding.
Officers, Gautier Code Enforcement, and a representative from the Jackson County Animal Shelter went to the business on February 1st for further investigation.
The investigation caused Sandi’s Pet Grooming Too to cease all business operations due to multiple city code violations.
According to Gautier police, the investigation is still ongoing and no charges have been filed.
According to the business’s Facebook page, Sandi’s Pet Grooming too expects to reopen sometime this week.
