Interconnecting Gulfport: Public input meeting this Wednesday

This Wednesday, Gulfport leaders are seeking your input on plans to extend Airport Road and create a new I-10 overpass near the Outlet Mall.

It’s a plan they’ve been discussing for several years now.

The plan would essentially extend Airport Road west of Highway 49 to create a new route over I-10 near Gulfport Premium Outlets that would allow access to Landon Road on the north side of the interstate.

The idea is to alleviate congestion at the busy Landon Road Highway 49 intersection as well as Creosote Road. The City of Gulfport was awarded a 2019 USDOT Build Grant for this project.

This Wednesday’s meeting for public input will be from 5 to 7 at Gulfport Premium Outlets in the food court.
