Institute for Marine Mammal Studies holding turtle release

The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies is sharing a turtle release scheduled for Wednesday.

The release takes place at 10:30 on the beach across the street from Edgewater Mall.

IMMS says five more of their sea turtles are returning to the Gulf. Three of them have acoustic tags while one has a satellite tag.

The tags will help aid IMMS researchers in understanding how these animals use the Mississippi Sound and the Northern Gulf.

Also joining the release is Representative Mike Ezell.
