Inside Biloxi’s new ambulance service
In December, the City of Biloxi announced its new ambulance service.
The city has officially received its new units and is gearing up for dispatch.
The city decided to pick Pafford EMS, a medical transportation company that has had success in northern Mississippi.
The ambulances dispatch right from the fire departments, making for a quicker response time.
EMTs and paramedics will work alongside the fire department, creating a strong bond that is critical for a team.
“So, we’ll be able to work hand in hand. They’ll know if there is a medical right down the street, or a severe car accident, or something along those lines. So, it’s really going to speed up the process of getting that on-scene care there quicker.”
The crew still needs to do some training before they officially take their first call.
