Inmate escaped from Hancock County Jail
A Hancock County Jail inmate escaped from custody today, a sheriff’s department official confirmed.
Kasie Mitchell of Tylertown escaped from the jail by climbing over a fence. Hancock County’s chief investigator could not provide further details but said Mitchell was on hold from Slidell police and escaped around 9:40 a.m.
She fled from the area on foot and was picked up by a passerby.
