Ingalls Shipbuilding hosts 12th Annual Ingalls 5K on the Causeway

Ingalls Shipbuilding hosted the 12th Annual Ingalls 5K on the Causeway!

Thousands of runners raced to the finish line to help raise money and spread awareness for Special Olympics Mississippi.

The event began on the Singing River Causeway Saturday morning, including a Fun Run for the kids right after the 5K!

The annual event helps raise thousands of dollars each year and this year was no different.

“Ingalls is a tremendous partner of Special Olympics of Mississippi and the funds that they raise reach the entire state of Mississippi,” said Monica Daniels, the president and CEO of Special Olympics Mississippi. “We serve 6,000 athletes and the money raised today support every aspect of the work that we do across the entire state and we could not be more grateful.”

Saturday’s event raised a total of $51,000 that will go directly to support the work of the Special Olympics.
