Inauguration Ceremonies in South Mississippi

They campaigned, you voted and today four cities along the Coast host inauguration ceremonies for elected officials.
Familiar face Billy Hewes swears in for his second full term as mayor of Gulfport. No surprise there as he ran unopposed in the election.
Travel west to Long Beach where former Fire Chief George Bass swears in as the new mayor of Long Beach. He replaces longtime mayor Billy Skellie who decided not to run for re-election.
The City of Gautier welcomes newcomer Phil Torjusen after he defeated incumbent Mayor Gordon Gollott for the mayor’s seat.
Finally in Diamondhead, it was a tight race but incumbent Mayor Tommy Schaefer defeated Ernie Knobloch by two votes to keep his spot as mayor of Diamondhead.
