Inaugural ‘Blues in Da Bay’ festival raises money for band students
A new festival brought a day of music, fun, and games to Hancock County over the weekend.
Blues in Da Bay’s mission is to provide financial assistance to first year band students in Hancock County.
Guests were able to play some cornhole and show off their axe throwing skills while enjoying blues music. Artists like Jimmy Duck Holmes, the Wolfe John Blues Band, and many more graced the stage.
Blues in Da Bay President Frank Strong says it is important to support the arts throughout the county. “Support your music departments. These kids work hard throughout the year. They’re working toward college scholarships, support your communities.”
The Bay Waveland High School Jazz Band and local third through fifth graders performed at the music festival as well.
