Ina Thompson Moss Point Library to close January 13 for renovations


Moss Point, MS- The Ina Thompson Moss Point Library will be closing on Friday, January 13, 2023, for a planned library makeover and renovation.

The project is supported by the City of Moss Point and funded by the Jackson County Board of Supervisors at cost of over $1 million. Allred Stolarski Architects, PA of Ocean Springs is the Architect of the project.

In order to start this exciting project, the library will require being closed for several months to accommodate a full renovation. For Moss Point Library patrons, no fines will be accrued during this closure. The Moss Point Library book drop will be closed January 13, 2023, at 4 p.m. After this date, materials may be returned to any branch library in the Jackson George Regional Library System.

It is suggested that patrons visit the Pascagoula Public Library located at 3214 Pascagoula Street. For information, call 228-769-3060. Patrons may also use any other JGRLS library.

This renovation will provide a much-needed roof repair and new HVAC systems.  In addition, the library will receive new interior lighting, ceiling and floor tiles, carpet, and paint throughout.  Rest rooms will be re-designed and outfitted to ADA compliant standards. The project will also include removal and reassembly of the shelves. The makeover will allow the Ina Thompson Moss Point Library to serve the citizens of Moss Point for many years to come.
