Gautier man jailed after leading Gautier police on chase

A Gautier man is in jail after leading Gautier police on a chase from one end of the city to the other.

Police say metro enforcement tried to pull 23-year-old Kaderrick Robinson over on a traffic stop Thursday.

Instead, he kept driving, running his late-model Nissan through the city and the streets of the Ocean Estates neighborhood, through residents’ yards, before running on foot and jumping into a drainage pond to get away.

Police said he gave up on the swim and came back to shore where he was arrested and taken to Jackson County Jail.

Gautier police said Robinson was seen throwing a firearm out of the car during the pursuit.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
