Important deadlines for Mississippi primary elections
We’re still a month away from Mississippi’s primary elections, but there are some important deadlines we need to remind you about.
If you want to vote in the upcoming August 8th primary election, you have to register to vote by this coming Monday, July 10th.
You can register in person at the circuit or municipal clerk’s office by 5 PM Monday, or you can mail in your registration application as long as it’s postmarked no later than July 10th.
Meanwhile, absentee ballots are now available through your county circuit clerk’s office.
If you know you cannot vote in the August 8th primary, you can either mail in your absentee ballot or fill one out in person at the circuit clerk’s office.
Those offices will be open for two extra days as we get closer to the election.
Those dates are Saturday July 29th and Saturday August 5th from 8 AM to noon both days.
