IMMS receives 16 cold-stunned sea turtles
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- This week, the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies received a new delivery of cold-stunned sea turtles from the New England Aquarium.
Sixteen Kemp’s Ridley Turtles arrived via plane Monday. The staff at IMMS is now examining the turtles to see what types of treatment they need.
The rehab process for these turtles will take place over the course of the coming weeks and months.
We’re they’re healthy enough to be released, the IMMS team will place them into the waters of the Mississippi Sound.
