IMMS animals receive toys for Christmas

Children weren’t the only ones with a Christmas list this year. The animals at the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies had a few toys they wanted for themselves as well.
The parrots, dolphins, turtles, sea lions, and much more got everything they wanted for Christmas thanks to Gulf Coast residents who were able to put something for them under the tree. They got some fun blocks, balls, mirrors, rubber duckies, and more, not to mention these toys enrich their lives too.
Marine mammal Trainer Emily Burks said, “These toys actually help to enrich their lives. It gives them the most fulfilling life they could possibly have here, gives them things to make their lives different, adds to their environments, all kinds of things.”
The animals received over 50 toys for Christmas this year.
