‘Ideas on Tap’ Education Conference
The Mississippi Humanities Council stopped by the Biloxi Visitor’s Center for a discussion on public education.
The ‘Ideas on Tap’ program is led by a panel of experts in education. The panel discussed topics such as funding, teaching, and resources available to students here in Mississippi.
The council held panels in six different cities this year with the hope of better educating parents and teachers. Dr. Stuart Rockoff said, “Each place we’ve done it has been very different. So for example, here on the Coast, it’s been great success with the public schools. We’ve done also in Jackson, which was, you know, has had challenges. We’re in Clarksdale which is you know a lower rated school so it’s been interesting to see how the discussion has differed based on where we were.”
The Humanities Council will return to the visitor’s center on Tuesday, October 15th for an ‘Ideas on Tap’ panel discussing the success of public schools on the Coast.
