There is some promising news about the status of the repair work being done on the I-10 Pearl River Bridge in Hancock County.

MDOT says crews have made significant progress in the past week and that the project is now ahead of schedule.

The entire project is expected to wrap up next Monday, July 24th, ahead of the initial projection of an early August completion date.

Over the weekend, crews demolished a section of bridge deck in the right lane and the new concrete decking was poured by crews yesterday.

Now, MDOT says the full closure of the westbound right lane on the bridge will tentatively end tomorrow and will be replaced by alternating lane closures on the bridge until the project is complete.
