Hurricane Preparedness Week starts today
It’s going to be an active hurricane season according to Harrison County EMA Director Matt Stratton.
It’s Hurricane Preparedness Week and here are a few tips to keep you and your families safe ahead of the storm.
Plan ahead, plan for your family, plan for your pets, and ensure everyone who lives in your home is familiar with any evacuation plans or safety strategies.
Double check with insurance companies, make sure you have sufficient coverage for any potential and unforeseen damage.
Stratton says disaster fatigue is real, however, tropical storm or any storms do not care.
It’s always better to prepare early.
It’s recommended to prepare five days of emergency supplies including food, one gallon of water per day/per person, and other essential medical pet or baby items.
