Hurricane preparedness seminar held for Harrison County residents
We are now about a month into hurricane season here in the Magnolia state. Many here in south Mississippi are still preparing for the ongoing season.
To make sure Harrison County residents are ready for any potential storms that may head our way, a preparedness workshop was held earlier this evening at the Knight Nonprofit Center.
The seminar helped attendees get a better sense of what they need to know to stay safe during a storm including having a proper plan in place, stocking up on the right supplies, and having an evacuation plan.
WXXV spoke to Harrison County director of emergency management and homeland security Matt Stratton and one of the attendees of the seminar.
Here’s what they had to say.
