Hurricane Nate effects along the Gulf Coast
Folks along the Gulf Coast of Alabama are surveying the damage from Hurricane Nate.
Nate was still packing hurricane force winds and heavy rain when it reached Mobile in the hours before dawn Sunday. Street flooding was causing problems with cars nearly submerged and others slowly making a way through. Emergency and city crews were out assisting stranded motorists.
Cleanup was already underway on Dauphin Island where debris had washed up beyond the shoreline. Crews used heavy equipment to move the debris off walks and roadways.
Just after sunrise, wind was still whipping and the hurricane warning flags were still flying.
