Huntington Learning Center Teacher of the Month: Christian Collegiate Academy’s Lindsey Roberts

WXXV and Huntington Learning Center are shining a spotlight on one local educator who is making a difference in the lives of her students.

WXXV News 25’s Asia Ellis takes us to Christian Collegiate Academy to reveal the latest teacher of the month: Lindsey Roberts

Teachers work hard every day to help their students grow and succeed. That type of commitment deserves to be recognized.

This month’s Huntington Learning Center Teacher of the Month goes to Lindsey Roberts, an eighth and ninth grade English teacher who also leads student council and organizes the school’s pep rallies. Her hard work and dedication to her students have made an impact both inside and outside the classroom. “I didn’t expect it at all. I love what I do and I’m grateful that I was even nominated for this. It was very unexpected, and I’m humbled by the fact that someone would even think of me.”

Roberts was nominated by a parent who says she stepped up when her son’s former English teacher suffered a stroke, working alongside other staff to help him grow, gain confidence, and find success. Student Noah Davis said, “She just really gives her best to teach us and she’s always put us before herself. Even when she’s tired or going through something hard, she’s always shown up for us, been consistent, and just taught us every day.”

And that commitment is something Roberts’ mother, the school’s principal, has seen firsthand. Principal Carol Roberts said, “The growth in her has been incredible in the last few years. Even through adversity, she strives and thrives in what she does. She loves it and the kids love her. It’s incredible to watch.”

Roberts’ commitment to her students has made a lasting impact at Christian Collegiate Academy.
