Hundreds of acres burned in woods fire in Ocean Springs

A fire engulfed a wooded area in Gulf Park Estates, burning hundreds of acres in Jackson County over the weekend.

No official word yet on what caused the massive blaze, but it is now fully contained.

It all started at around 2:15 Saturday afternoon and jumped across Fontainebleau Road in several areas.

No homes were damaged and so far no injuries have been reported.
