Hundreds gather to enjoy Coast cuisine at Taste of South Mississippi event

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)-In Biloxi on Thursday, it was a food lover’s paradise as the Salvation Army kicked off its Taste of South Mississippi.

This event brings some of the best bites to eat on the Coast together under one roof.

Hundreds packed into the Kroc Center in Biloxi this evening for a night dedicated to good food and a good cause.

Over 28 vendors and restaurants across the Coast put together some of their best culinary creations for attendees to enjoy.

Tickets were $40 and once you were inside you could eat until your heart’s desire.

A live auction was also held with items and services from businesses all across South Mississippi and the money raised will go towards supporting the Salvation Army’s efforts and programs within the South Mississippi region.

As always, the Salvation Army is trying to bring awareness to the importance of volunteering. Miss Volunteer America, a national brand ambassador for the Salvation Army, says makes events like these possible.

The fundraising for this event was $45,000.
