Hundreds enjoy cuisine at Taste of Long Beach 2024

Taste of Long Beach has been a staple in the community for 15 years, and on Thursday night, it attracted a crowd of hundreds eager to try different bites and beverages.

The event highlights local businesses, from restaurants and bars to coffee shops and bakeries, and even some national chains with locations in Long Beach. It aims to encourage Gulf Coast residents to dine local and see everything that is offered in their area.

“Local businesses depend on participation from citizens, and so it’s really important that we show up for them and let them know that we love them as much as they’re here to support us and our everyday needs,” said Michelle Daniel, an eventgoer. “So we’re super thankful just to have this kind of event just to show the love back.”

Brooke Rester owns Dolce Bakeshop in Long Beach and showcased a variety of her popular baked goods at Taste of Long Beach.

“I think it’s a great opportunity, especially for some of the newcomers in town,” Rester said. “It kind of helps them get their face out there and get to meet new people, and then for us it kind of just turns into a big party. We get to visit with all of our patrons that we love, and we just love getting to see everybody and visit.”

Attendees were able to try all things homemade and tasty, including unique options such as crab beignets, crawfish deviled eggs and brown butter bourbon truffle ice cream. Daniel shared some of what she tried

“I had a fantastic tamale and fish dip and all kinds of great food,” Daniel said. “I think my husband and I are planning to go back and eat a little bit more, but it’s at this point super great food.”
