Humane Society of South Mississippi takes in dogs after hoarding case

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Humane Society of South Mississippi is sharing details after a hoarding case in Gulfport.

A total of 39 small breed dogs were found in one home.

The Humane Society says this happens when responsible pet ownership is ignored and when licensing ordinances as well as spaying and neutering is not in place.

These dogs arrived to the Humane Society riddled with worms, every dog now being fully vetted, dewormed, microchipped, and brought up to date on vaccines.

Each of these dogs will be spayed or neutered before being sent home.

HSSM says many were scared of the world around them when they first arrived. With patience and love from the team, they’ve started to trust again.

All pups range from three months to five years old, adoption fees ranging from $75 to $250.
