Human Rights Campaign director on respect, harassment in the workplace
The director of the Human Rights Campaign for Mississippi says everyone should be treated with respect in the workplace following the recent termination of NBC’s Matt Lauer.
The Human Rights Campaign held a summit focusing on workplace equality for LGBTQ employees at the Beau Rivage Casino and Resort in Biloxi today.
News 25 caught up with Rob Hill, the director of the Human Rights Campaign, to hear his take on the sexual harassment cases involving co-workers, most recently the allegations surrounding Today Show anchor Matt Lauer. “A lot of this is very troubling, but I hope it sheds a light on all kinds of harassment that takes place in the workplace. Certainly LGBT people are bullied in the workplace, harassed, unfortunately, more often than people who are not LGBT.”
One of the companies to attend the summit, Huntington Ingalls Industries, was rated best place to work by the LGBTQ Equality Human Rights Campaign.
