Human remains found in George County

Basin Community, August 24, 2024 – The George County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the discovery of human remains in the Basin Community earlier today.

The remains were found in a wooded area and are pending identification by the county coroner, Deeann Murrah.

Local law enforcement, in collaboration with the coroner’s office, is actively working to determine the positive identity of the deceased.
