Hugh Freeze not stressing over NCAA
During the course of a college football season, the approach is almost always the same: one game at a time. Similarly the concept of one day at a time also applies to Ole Miss following its response to the NCAA.
Yesterday, school officials contested seven of the 21 allegations charged to the Rebels by the governing body in the February 22nd notice of allegations. One of those applies directly to head coach Hugh Freeze, who’s fighting the level one violation of failure to monitor.
At this point, Freeze has done all he can do. He didn’t appear to be stressed during his time on the links in Memphis earlier today. “Yeah, it’s great because this support has been phenomenal and I couldn’t ask for anymore from our people. They’ve witnessed me closely run a program and obviously they have confidence that we’re doing it the right way, and we’re excited to get to the next phase of it. (How nervous are you about the next phase?) I’m just ready to get to the next phase. There’s no nerves, just ready to get it over with,” said Freeze.
The NCAA is expected to respond to Ole Miss sometime later this year.
