Huge Freeze talks job security

Today’s originally scheduled programming of the Ole Miss spring practice press conference became exponentially more interesting after the NCAA’s notice of allegations posed many new questions for the Rebels.
Especially for head coach Hugh Freeze, who has been charged with a lack of institutional control by the governing body. Even though Ole Miss plans to fight that violation, the recent findings still cast a lot of uncertainty over the program.
What comes with that is a hard freeze this winter with the Rebels having self-imposed a one-year post-season ban. There’s also a great deal of speculation over Freeze’s job security, although getting fired doesn’t seem to be much of a fear for the sixth year head man. “I’m not really concerned. I’ve got administrators that have watched me for five years do everything very closely, and they’ve been so supportive and have been unwavering in that. And really, I haven’t been really involved in the institutional one, that’s more for the administration and them to kind of formulate even though in time I think it will be hand-in-hand. Mine is more with the failure to monitor that I’ll obviously concentrate on hard to prove that.”
As for spring practice, the Rebels got things cranked up this afternoon and will conclude spring drills on April 8th with the annual Grove Bowl.
