HSSM and Shaggy’s teaming up for Rescue Doggy’s Day Out

National Rescue Dog Day is Friday, May 20th.

To celebrate, the Humane Society of South Mississippi is spotlighting some of their longest running, tail wagging residents with Rescue Doggy Day’s Out at Shaggy’s.

Volunteers from CARA, Community Animal Rescue and Adoption, and adoptable dogs are spending the day at the restaurant, taking a well-deserved break from the shelter with the hopes of meeting potential forever families.

HSSM Development Director Katie King says if you want to volunteer to take the field trip with a new four-legged friend, call the Humane Society of any of the three Shaggy’s locations on the Gulf Coast. “We are encouraging everybody to stop by the shelter and get with our adoptions team and our fosters team to check out your dog for the day and take them to Shaggy’s, get lunch, give them a nice break from the shelter, hopefully meet some potential new adopters. They will all be wearing something that says adopt me on them so they’ll be easily recognizable.”

Stop by Shaggy’s for Rescue Dog’s Day out. The adoptable dogs will be at Shaggy’s from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on May 20th.
