Hoverboard catches fire while charging
The Harrison County and State Fire Marshals’ Office are investigating a fire in Saucier Tuesday morning that was caused by a hoverboard being charged.
The quick actions of neighbors prevented major damage. The fire, which was reported around 10:40 a.m., was discovered by a neighbor who heard an explosion, saw fire on the front porch of the residence and ran for help.
There have been at least five fires in the state caused by hoverboards igniting. Fire officials across the country have seen deaths and major fire damage to homes caused by the hoverboard fires.
