House Catches Fire On Klondyke Road

A home in Harrison County is now destroyed after a fire broke out Sunday.
The Harrison County fire service responded to the call on Klondyke Road in long beach around 3:30 yesterday afternoon.
Fire Chief Pat Sullivan says a neighbor called in about the fire around the time lightning strikes had occurred.
Fire officials say lightning strikes from the storm are suspected for the possible cause but it is still under investigation.

“Unfortunately we had a lot of wind, heavy lightening, and a lot of fire when we first arrived. The first fire units that arrived started making interior attacks inside but the fire and the conditions inside became so bad they had to move out. Unfortunately the fire progressed throughout the structure and it has been destroyed by the fire.”
