House Bill 1262 creates alternate pathways for medical personnel
JACKSON, Miss. (WXXV)- Governor Tate Reeves signed legislation into law that benefits medical members of the military.
House Bill 1262 was signed Thursday. The bill benefits Army combat medics, Navy hospital corpsmen, and Air Force aerospace medical service specialists.
This creates an alternate pathway for these service members to become licensed practical nurses in the state.
Medical training will be recognized under the new law and allows service members to challenge the LPN exam.
The law goes into effect July 1, 2025.
