Hotels & Casinos are Busy with New Year’s & Sugar Bowl

With New Year’s Eve coming up Wednesday night, and the Sugar Bowl Thursday night, hotels and casinos are filling up with out of town guests. It’s starting to get busy in the lobby of Harrah’s as guests are arriving for New Year’s and the Sugar Bowl.

The Gulf Coast Hotel Association has just booked a sixth bus to shuttle Ohio State and Alabama fans to the Superdome Thursday for the game. Many hotels on the Coast are booked with Sugar Bowl package deals. Before the game, hotels, casino floors, and restaurants will be packed Wednesday night with guests ringing in the New Year.

Shay Smith, Marketing Specialist for Harrah’s Gulf Coast, says, “Here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, we are expecting a lot of visitation this holiday season, and especially with the Sugar Bowl coming up. Right now we are very excited to know that our hotel is at capacity, however we’re always welcoming others to come enjoy the fun with us whether they want to enjoy a drink at Mix and Mingle or visit the casino floor.”

You can enjoy your midnight champagne toast at Harrah’s and still make it to the Sugar Bowl the next day with buses leaving at both 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for New Orleans. For information about buses, call 888-388-1006. There are still spots left!
