Hot Rods and Hospitality saw huge crowds in Downtown Waveland: Here are the sights and sounds

Waveland annual’s Hot Rods and Hospitality Cruisin’ the Coast event brought tons of cruisers out to the downtown area.

“Love doing it. Love doing it. It’s everybody that’s got an interest, the same interest. It’s an old car. Oh, we’re into old cars. I’m not a mechanic by any means,” said Cruiser Jimmy Crane, owner of 1975 Oldsmobile Delta 88.

The Hot Rods and Hospitality event is how they do it in Waveland, as classic car owners have set up shop in downtown Waveland for the city’s second annual street cruise-in.

The classic car fest featured live music from local bands and good food, along with the car showcase, bringing many cruisers rolling through Downtown Waveland. Hear more sights and sounds from the afternoon.

“I like how old they are. Some of them sound like they might be ready to retire,” said Cruisin’ attendee Madelynn Knight.

“This weather here, it couldn’t be any better. It is a little warm today, but this nice just cruising down the coast. We leave our windows down with the AC going, and just enjoy the wind blowing in,” said Cruiser Tim Hildabrand, owner of 1932 Ford Coupe.

“Seeing all the old cars. I think it’s just like cool to see all the old cars that like are still working,” said Cruisin’ attendee Brenn Breland.

“I’ve been coming down here about four or five years now. My son in law’s who got me into it, I bought one two years ago down here in a little 32 Ford coupe. And I love it. I wish I’d got into it back when I was 19,” said Hildabrand.

“I saw a really cool, like school bus, and it was like named, like Da Bus. I thought it was really cool,” said Breland.
