Hosemann urges importance of voting

The deadline for people to register to vote is April 1st and elections begin in May. Municipal clerk offices will be open from 8 a.m. to noon for voter registration for the municipal primary run-off elections.
This afternoon in Biloxi, Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann spoke to the Association of Planning and Development directors about the upcoming elections. He says it’s important for voters to be educated on the candidates and maybe even invite them over for coffee. “It’s up to the voter. So sometime in the next week or two, y’all ought to look at who is going to be the alderman and who’s going to be your mayor. Invite them to come over to the house, tell everybody on the street we’re going to have the mayor candidates over at the house for coffee at 5:30 to 6 when people get off work. Go get invested.”
During the meeting, they also revealed their new registration ad that features actor Morgan Freeman. Freeman is a long time resident of Mississippi.
