Honoring our veterans through song and music

The salute continues along the Gulf Coast, honoring our veterans for all that they’ve done for our country.

Tonight, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Perkinston Concert Choir, Mississippi Sound, and the Perk Woodwind Ensemble performed a Veterans Day concert at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Brandon Ring, director of choral activities, tells News 25 this second annual event honors our vets through song and music with a special theme. “And a lot of our music has a theme actually, every semester I create a theme. This one’s called ‘Transform– Be The Light’ and we thought that would really capture the essence of what it means to be an American here and to tell a story through that, through song.”

Ring says this event has grown since their first performance last year and he hopes to make this a popular ceremony every year.
