‘Homes for Dogs’ Adoption Drive

Folks in Jackson County came out to help our four-legged friends on Saturday.

Coldwell Banker Smith Homes Realtors and the Jackson County Animal Shelter hosted their ‘Homes for Dogs’ adoption event.

The event featured live music, raffles for certain pet care items, and the chance to adopt some sweet dogs and cats.

Shelter Adoption Coordinator Maridee Mallette says the event was a good way for people to meet animals outside of a shelter setting.  “It’s a great idea. It gets animals out of the shelter and they have a fun day, field trip outside. People can come here and meet them in, you know, a better setting and get to know them and play with them.”

Sixteen animals were adopted and two were fostered during the event.
