Homebuilt plane donated to Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum
A new museum is underway in Gulfport and each day new and exciting artifacts are being brought in.
The Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum will tell the story of Mississippi aviators from across the state. Today, the museum received a homebuilt airplane donated by a family from Hernando, Mississippi.
This unique, working plane has won multiple awards and features unique designs and innovations. Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum Project Coordinator Francisco Gonzalez said, “Most people, when you go to an aviation museum, you see a lot of jets and a lot of military stuff, but we want to combine things. This is going to be some general aviation, some military stuff, some homebuilt, some experimentals. We are going to have it all. So, we are very proud of what we have and we are very grateful for the donations we are getting.”
The museum needs volunteers and donations to help get it open. You can call 601-299-2816 for more information.
