Home Instead holds hiring event in Ocean Springs
Home Instead, which provides care for seniors all over the Coast, had a hiring event today in Ocean Springs and gave us a look into the state of the industry post-COVID.
The service is looking to hire 20 new caregivers, no experience necessary, only compassion.
The work involves day-to-day help assisting seniors at their homes, including some basic household tasks.
Kelli Ratcliff, HR manager, tells News 25 senior caregivers have become increasingly difficult to find in the wake of COVID.
As more people on the Coast enter the final chapter of their lives, help is needed more than ever. “It is difficult since COVID, getting care-givers to come in. We are having an influx of new clients wanting to stay at home instead of going elsewhere to live. We go into the clients’ homes where they’re more comfortable, because that’s where they’re secure. We go into their homes and care for them in any way we can, to make it safe for them and happy for them.”
Though the hiring event ended at 2 p.m., Home Instead is still filling position.
