Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church annual bake sale
If you have a sweet tooth and are looking to try new food — the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church’s International Christmas Pastry Sale is perfect for you.
This traditional bake sale has been happening for over 40 years each holiday season.
The church bakes Greek, Russian, and Ukrainian pastries such as baklava, finikia, and kolachy cookies with plum filling.
Everything is made from scratch and cooked by members of the church.
The church begins planning in August and just this year they have baked more than 700 white wedding cookies.
Even after so many years — these ladies haven’t tired of the sweet tradition.
“This festival is a celebration of the Greek culture and the Ukrainian culture,” said Meri Ionescu. “We are coming together as a church to prepare all of this like a feast. We are putting a lot of love into what we are baking and selling, and we would like to invite everyone to come and support us.”
You can place an order at www.holytrinitybiloxi.org or you can stop by the church on December 8th and 9th. Just know they may run out of items if you don’t order ahead.
